IRC 6: 2017 Standard Specification and code of practice for road bridges: Section II Loads and Load combinations is the Seventh Revision for IRC 6. It contains section II of the Standard Specification and code of practice for road brides, which incorporates the load and their combination taken for the design of bridges.
The various live load classification of IRC-6 include the IRC Class 70R Loading (Tracked and Wheeled), IRC Class AA Loading (Tracked and Wheeled), IRC Class A Loading, IRC Class B Loading and IRC Class Special Vehicle (SV) Loading. Similarly, a Dead load of various materials, Reduction in longitudinal effect, Foot overloads, Pedestrian/bicycle railings/parapets load, crash barriers load, Tramway Load, Impact load, Wind load, Water current load, Braking load, Centrifugal forces, Buoyancy, Earth Pressure, Temperature effect, Secondary effects, Erection effect and construction load, Guidelines for Seismic Design of Road Bridges, Barge impact on bridges, Snow load, Vehicle collision load on support and Effects of creep, shrinkage and temperature, etc. on statically indeterminate and composite structure are provided in this code.
