Standard specification of roads and bridge work – 2073 revised and updated version in 2078 by the Department of Roads (DoR) to incorporate all the recent development in the practice of construction materials and technology. This standard includes specifications to be applied during the construction of roads and bridges as per the Engineer's instruction.
These specifications shall apply to all such road and bridge works as are required to be executed as per Contract or as per instruction of the Engineer. All Work performed shall conform with the lines, grades, slopes, cross-sections superelevation data, and dimensions as shown in the Drawings. If the Drawing, Special Provisions, or these Specifications state specific tolerances, then the Work shall be performed within those limits.
The quality of materials, processing of materials as may be needed at the site, salient features of the construction work, and quality of finished work shall comply with the requirements outlined in succeeding sections. Where the drawings and Specifications describe a portion of the work in only general terms and not in complete detail, it shall be understood that only sound practice is to prevail, materials and workmanship of the best quality are to be employed, and the instructions of the Engineer are to be fully complied.
